Good morning, Elle!
Not too bad a day here.
Just above freezing though still icy patches here and there.
Just home.
Been visiting daughter-in-law and granddaughter.
That's very interesting about mice and houses in London!
You should make your field mouse. Mr Jingles, welcome!
I knew mice liked chocolate; did not know about them not liking dark chocolate, though.

Hi, Rusty!
It was very boisterous out earlier..... branches were being hurled down from trees!
It might have been more sensible to postpone our walk till later, but of course we had no means of knowing which way the weather might jump!
Definitely milder, though...and now with a hint of (feeble) sunshine!
I hope you had a good chat with Miss O'H and her mum?
How are the dog and cat?
Did you get your new kettle?
What was your verdict in the end?

Hello, Elle!
It is not so bad here, for weather!
Had a fine time at daughter-in-law's.
Getting kettle tomorrow morning, then visiting daughter-in-law again.
She forgot to give me something!
The dog is great, she is very friendly towards me, but no sign of the cat.
I have a DVD player now, thanks to Santa.
Two DVD'S to watch.
"La La Land" and "Andre Rieu in London"!
Also got a CD entitled "Amira"!
I read in my paper that Michael Molpurgo has been knighted in the New Years Honours list.
He said the award should go to "Joey"!

Good evening, Rusty!
Let us hope that the worst of the weather has missed you!
We were forecast heavy rain later in the day...but so far it hasn't arrived.
And the wind has dropped.
We have been shopping......buying in food for Monday......
There will be fewer family members there than originally planned, but I am expecting friends to come and go throughout the day.
(This part is a secret, though!)
How nice that you now have a DVD player........and can at last watch "La La Land"!
You have already nearly caught us up....we have had our DVD player quite a long time .....and still only have about five DVDs!
Well done, Michael Molpurgo - and Joey!
I am going to watch "Call the Midwife" - a lovely programme - that I recorded on Christmas Day.

Good evening, Elle!
I think it is milder here.
i suppose I'll have to buy a few DVD's now and appear very interested!
"The Quiet Man" would be a good one, and "Babe"!
Just shows you, these young ones must pay attention when I am rattling on about something!
Miss La Bamba got me bottles of J2O and... this is the bit that impressed me, .... a bottle opener, because they guessed I would not have one!

Hi, Rusty!
I think you may well enjoy the DVD player?
What a thoughtful present.
You can watch a film in stages if you wish!
Part today......part tomorrow!
No more getting bored with having to sit still for too long!
Have a look on Amazon for "used" DVDs just like the books - there are some good bargains for "The Quiet Man"!
You will enjoy seeing Maureen O'Hara!
I had to smile at the bottle opener!

Hello Elle and Rusty!

Hope you are coping well with your weather!

You are right about the 'used' DVDs, Elle. I myself sell some
DVDs that I have bought, watched but do not wish to keep for another
viewing;
And once you have watched them yourselves Rusty,
nothing to stop you selling them yourself, thereby getting money
credited to your account and thereby reimburse the cost of
buying the DVD in the first place!

If you take the time to browse on Amazon, there are hundreds
of good DVDs, but you need patience! there is a lot of choice!

Still very windy (80kms/hour wind which for inland is a lot), rainy
and stupidely warm, yet fresh indoors because of wind and dampness. Oh, I forgot, thunderstorm as well!!! Mad!

PPS - You could also go to your local Library and borrow some
DVDs; the Library in my village keeps a very wide collection of
DVDs, and buys new ones regularly, to keep up the stock.

Hello, Elle,
I will not enjoy the DVD player.
I am not good at sitting and staring!
But, I shall give it a go, as the young ones took the time and trouble to find something they thought I would like!
I'll give Amazon a go, though.
When I saw the bottle opener I did not recognise it for what it was!
I think my granddaughters think I am not long out of the cave!

Hello, Pigale!
Our weather has mellowed somewhat.
Hope yours is the same?
