Hello, Elle!
I lead a very sheltered life and have never heard of "scag", in my puff!
5a is a new word to me (I think) although it is a simple anagram.
And I had heard of 24a but did not know the meaning.
I think it is an Aussie word.
And 27a is a new kind of music to me, too, but not to Chambers or Anne Bradford!
Put the puzzle down and come back to it.
Just like rebooting your computer, it refreshes things!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, "haymow" was a new word for me, too.
I did know "corroboree" though!
I think it is something like a "jamboree" .....
My son was in the Scouts!
I have finished the puzzle now....
My last one in was 28a: I've finally got "diktat"
It took me ages.
I went out in the garden with the dog...glorious sunshine again now!
And a lamp shone on my return!
Just as you said!

Update, Rusty!
Can you believe this?
Eurosport Player have just sent me the following email......
"The US Open is heating up. Don’t miss the action."
They've got to be kidding.......!

Hello, Elle!
What a blooming cheek!
I hope you fired off a sharply worded response?
They are only showing it on one channel now, so you'd imagine that would give them less scope for error!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I did!
The message came back to me as "unable to be delivered"!
Maybe it was the blue aura surrounding it.......

Cat is eating what the vet would term as totally unsuitable food....
I have been and bought "delicacies" with which to tempt him.....he is wolfing it down!

Is your son visiting tonight?

Hello, Elle!
The cat appears to be on the mend!
Sounds encouraging!
EuroPlayer is proving to be a big disappointment!
But, the semis etc are not due on court until around midnight our time.
Would you be up watching them anyway?
There is a mens doubles match on just now but I have not heard of any of the players.
And there are few spectators.
"Few", as in the stadium looks to be "practically empty".
I have no idea why that is.
I think my son is coming.
He has not texted to say he is not, anyway!

Hey, Rusty!
It may well be that your son is still with you?
I sent a very annoyed ( but polite) email to Eurosport Player but it achieved nothing as it hasn't been delivered!
The organisation still owes me four months of "viewing" time!
My younger daughter is going back to work full time next month.
She has organised it all with her company today.
She will still work from home one day a week, as she does now, but will spend four days in the office instead of the current three.
YB will go to nursery an extra day.
Financially and career-wise, this will be a good move for her.
But I shall greatly miss our meeting up on her "day off"!

Hello, Elle!
My son has gone home, Elle.
He brought me two pies from the butcher.
I am getting spoiled!
I wonder if Eurosport Player has a UK address you could write to by "snail-mail"?
I suspect it will be in Paris, though.
Good news about your daughter's career moves!
I like to see the young ones getting on in life.

Hi, Rusty!
I think you are brilliant!
Wherever did you find an English address?
I have been searching Google and have only come up with French contacts?
I shall write to them tomorrow at this Chiswick address.
It may be that they do not reply........
But at least it is worth my time and effort to try, isn't it?
Thank you so much!
Two pies sound good........!
What are their fillings?
This talk of food is making me hungry..........maybe I should have a potato cake (or two) with my coffee?
