Hello, Elle
Update on tennis!
Sharapova is in an off white sparkly dress, black hat and arm warmers, and white shoes.
I did not realise she was so tall. 6ft 2ins.
Lot of empty seats in the venue, though.

Hi, Rusty!
I have been talking to my cousin for the past hour!
All is well up there, save for the problem with my cousin' s finger, which is still giving her a lot of pain after her operation.
I do not know "The Galway Shawl"?
I shall take a look on YouTube later.
Goodness, Maria is indeed tall. I hadn't realised that.
Her dress designer must be making a fortune, as she seems to wear a different design each day!
I wonder why the venue is nearly empty?
I would have thought Maria to be a big draw?
How are you getting on with your book?

Hello, Elle!
Maria is very tall, indeed!
She has won the first set.
The stadium is not nearly empty.
But there are many empty seats.
I read an article earlier in the week stating that Arthur Ashe is an awful stadium.
Far too big and many spectators are too far away.
I have finished my book about Mrs Thompson.
It was very well written.
Now reading about Major Armstrong of Hay.
He was a scoundrel!

Hi, Rusty!
I know a little about Major Armstrong.........I wonder why?
Have you mentioned him before?
He was believed to have killed his wife by arsenic poisoning?
I haven't heard from younger daughter...I must text to check they have arrived home safely - usually she is very prompt with her communications!
( She may just think they hadn't gone far enough away to warrant such action!
It was only to Windsor)
So one set all........I am almost wishing Maria will win......it is quite interesting following her exploits!
It is raining steadily here now.......

Hello, Elle,
A win for Anastasija Sevastova, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.
Very good game, best player won.
I will say though, that I prefer Wimbledon to Flushing Meadow.
Yes, you may have heard me mention Major Armstrong.
His is another of the "classic" murders.
He poisoned his wife.
Have you heard from your daughter?

PS, Elle,
Miss Sevastova is probably the quickest server I have seen.
No bouncing the ball or anything like that.
She just throws it up and hits it!
Very refreshing to see!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I have heard from my daughter!
My mobile was beeping just as I finished posting to you!
All back home safely, with the boys now tucked up asleep!
BB is back to school on Tuesday.
I shall read another chapter of my book before bed!

Hi, Rusty!
Are you about?
We are just back from seeing our vet, Karin........
She is not happy for our cat to come home as yet, because he still has a temperature following his operation.
He is being treated for this.
We are to go and "visit" him at 5 pm and have another word with her then.
She may keep him in till tomorrow, or even wait till she gets back the biopsy results, which most probably will be Wednesday.
Hey ho!
Anyway, how are you?
What are you up to?

Good afternoon, Elle!
How fares the day with you?
Best let your vet decide what is best for your cat, I think?
I have been "slinging" stuff.
Just one run to the skip.
And I have had my non-sucking vacuum cleaner in bits but to no avail.
That is going in skip tomorrow.
And I shall buy a new one.
I have just finished my puzzle.
I though 13d was an excellent clue.
Not impressed with 16a (new to me), and I thought 22d was wrong, but Chambers didn't!
I think the Diamond League is on TV this afternoon?
