Malone, Anne Bradford rules!
I am a fan of her book!
Yes, frequently you see a word included and think "why on earth is that included?".
Then you go "digging" and find out that she is perfectly correct.
I enjoy her Dictionary.

Hey, Rusty!
It is strange, though, that most of the "debates" we have here on the forum are so very often based on the English language / grammar, and its nuances and peculiarities!
I do so love a good discussion!
Oh dear! I am having such trouble keeping awake.....yet cannot sleep well when I go to bed.....
I think perhaps once my cat is back home, I may then be able to sleep properly!
Any interesting reports on the US Open?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, it is a wonderful language!
You are worrying about your cat, hence the sleeplessness.
Once he comes home you'll be fine!
I have no tales from Flushing Meadow.
Coco Vandeweghe has won her match.
Rafa Nadal is ahead in his first set.
I have only had the odd look at it.
I have been reading my book.
"Letters from a Suburban Housewife".
It is very good.

Hi, Rusty!
I don't think I have ever watched CoCo Vandeweghe play?
Didn't she reach the Wimbledon Quarter Finals this year......or am i mistakenly thinking of someone else?
She's American?
So what is your book about?
It is a title I haven't heard?
I do like books told in letter form though.
Lyn MacD's were so successful.
Lyn must be in her eighties now?
I'm reading "Dead Man's Time" by Peter James.
A detective murder mystery.....one of the books I recently bought from a new Charity shop opened on the High Street.

Good morning, Elle!
Fine morning here!
Coco did quite well at SW19 as I remember.
She is certainly American.
I do not think you would like my book.
It is the true story of a "classic" murder and the trial and executions.
Known as the "Thompson/Bywaters" case.
The letters written by Edith Thompson were used against her in the trial.
I think Lyn is 83.
I have been unsuccessfully trying to find out how old Anne R Bradford is!
All I can find is she started her Dictionary in 1957 when she was pregnant!
Both her and Lyn live in North London.
Neighbours perchance?

Good morning rusty
All I know is that Anne Rae Bradford was born 1930, but I don't know if Bradford is her maiden name .

No Anne R. Bradford born in 1930 in UK or within 5 years of that date. There's a nice photo of her on amazon.

Good morning, Jazzgirl and Rosalind!
Thank you for the "digging"!
I could not find anything!
There appears to be an author called Anne Bradford, too?
But I think Anne R is the lady born in 1930.
I thought she would have been a bit younger than that.
Anyway, she is one of my heroes!

I found a marriage of an Anne R F****** to a F****** Bradford in the June qtr of 1952 in Hampstead, Lodon. I haven't shown names as this is a public form and people using google could use info. even if it is not correct .
