Hi, Rusty!
We were much better informed last year about the ospreys, weren't we?
I remember being able to follow the ospreys' movements then, much more thoroughly.
It made interesting reading, too, keeping up with the blog.
This time around, the sighting and reporting have been somewhat ragged.
And we have not been able to access the nest so often due to various technical problems.
I hope that Lassie , Laddie and the "chick" all make it to Africa safely.
There are highlights of another Diamond League tomorrow, showing on BBC1 at 1.15pm
This time from Brussels.
Followed by a Triathlon.
I shall set the recorder.
Yes, I am tired - probably from worrying.
I think an early night is a good idea!

Good morning, Elle!
Fine sunny morning here!
Yes, poor show from Loch of the Lowes this year.
I am disappointed with them.
No sign of activity at the nest this morning, not even the crow!
I think the birds have flown!
Sharapova has won, and also had a pop at Wozniacki (as she was entitled to do).
"I'll play in the car park, if they want me to!"
Hearing Serena has been safely delivered of a little girl!
Right, off for my paper!

Good morning, Rusty!
A glorious morning here!
We are recently back from our walk, and I am now drinking coffee and eating my apple and cheese.....
I have just checked in on the osprey site, and two crows are now picking over the nest.
Yes, it does look as though Laddie and daughter are on their way to Africa!
I am about to print out the crosswords.
Are you meeting up with your granddaughters this morning?

Hi elle
I've posted a message for you on peg's DM thread that would have better here, I think!

Hello, Elle!
Great day here, too!
The crows seem to do well at the nest.
Must be morsels of fish they are after.
I agree with you.
Laddie and daughter have left, it looks like.
Safe journey for them, I hope!
No granddaughters today!
I have been busy outside, cutting grass and hedge-hacking.
Good luck with your puzzles!
Will attempt mine later.
I have more grass to cut etc for a neighbour who is slightly impaired just now.
He is recovering from a car accident.

Hi, Rusty!
That is very good of you to help out your neighbour by cutting his grass.
I have finished two of the four crosswords sent by John.....the Cryptic and the Jumbo GK.
Four still to parse fully in the former xword, but I shall meditate on those!
I have spoken to the veterinary nurse and my cat has had a good night and eaten some breakfast!
So that is a good sign.
I am awaiting the vet's phoning me to tell me the next step!
I am hoping either the cat might be able to come home for a few days whilst they wait for the biopsy results......or we can go visit him in the hospital.
Meanwhile...I shall watch the Brussels DL shortly.......
Have you already seen it?

Hello, Chris!
Thank you...I have chased up your message!
The only parts of the US we have visited are New York and New Jersey , when our elder daughter was living and working there for a few years.
Our eldest grandson (now nearly 10) was born there!

Hello, Elle!
My neighbour is a fine lad.
He was in quite a bad crash and has several broken bones which are healing nicely, he says.
He manages to put the kettle on, though!
Good news from the vet's!
I have not seen the DL.
All I know is, Eilish has broken Laura Muir's Scottish record, and Eilidh was fourth in her race.
So, that is pleasing!
I have finished my puzzle and parsed it.
One parse does not sit happily with me, but is probably perfectly satisfactory!
I am off to shoot over to ASDA.
I forgot to buy milk when I was there this morning.
Too much nashgab going on!

Hi, Rusty!
"Nashgab" is a new word for me!
Well done to Eilish.....
I did not know that she had broken Laura's record....
The BBC does such a rush job of these Highlights that there is very little follow-through after the race.
Often we are not even given the full results, but are left only knowing who took the first few places!
(And still no word from EuroSport Player!)
It has finished now.......and we are just going over to the vets to see our cat.
Hopefully, we may get some information whilst there!
Catch you later.

Hi, Rusty!
Home again for the rest of the evening, now!
Cat is making progress, and may be able to come home tomorrow, depending on appetite and bowel movement.
His results will not be through until early next week, so he may well have to go back again later, for further treatment.
But so far.......so good.
Have you finished all your tasks? grass cutting /hedge trimming etc?

Hello, Elle,
Be grand if the cat comes home!
Take it step by step, just.
Yes, I have finished my tasks.
Just took an hour or so.
My hirpling neighbour was well pleased with his tidier garden and gave me a coffee and chocolate digestive biscuits.
Reward enough for an honest man!
Now, 14d, "Reason workforce finally left plant, unwanted?" (9)
I have "Groundsel" for "plant, unwanted?", as it is classed as a weed.
"ground" for reason, workforc"e" finally is "e", left is "l".
But where does the "s" in "Groundsel" come from?
Should it be "reasonS" do you think, in the clue?
Reasons would be grounds?
I remember reading about Groundsel in Watership Down!
