Hi, Rusty!
I have just watched Mo's last (track) race on YouTube!
It was well fought, wasn't it, and a very close run thing.......
But he did it!
Good to go out on a high note!
Well done , Mo!
(That was some shove Chelimo gave Edris....no wonder Chelimo was disqualified!)
Btw...in case, you are thinking my daughters saddled their offspring with several "old-fashioned " names.......my dad's is the only more outlandish name, which is why I cited it as an example of what I was trying to illustrate.
The other given names in remembrance are still popular and in common usage!
Right, a hot drink before bed.......and maybe a shortie biscuit!

Good morning, Elle!
This running lark is as bad as the cycling for "incidents"!
Mo did well. Mind you, the first four were all super, I thought!
I like old-fashioned names coming back.
Why not indeed!
Did you know that "Jennifer" derives from "Guinevere"?
And Guinevere is quite old fashioned while Jennifer is a modern name.
As long as young Albert Louie is thriving and can ride a bike he'll do fine!
Right I am off for my paper.
Going to Pine Cone later this morning!

Good morning, Rusty!
We are just back from the park...somehow running a bit behind schedule this morning!
It is yet another glorious day here....the temperature is already 20C, so set to be a scorcher , I should imagine.
I hope I have caught you, before you go out with your granddaughter (s)?
Have a good time at the Pine Cone!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I am glad you enjoyed your outing!
I started off at 1 o'clock watching the Diamond League Athletics Highlights on BBC1 ...........
But was interrupted so many times by the telephone that I gave up!
Luckily, the recorder was on, so I shall play catch up later!
Have you done your puzzle?
I didn't think it was too bad a one?
Saturdays are usually easier, I find.
I have just two to parse....I expect you will have already solved them.....
15a: yo-yoing =fluctuating
20a: saved by the bell
I can go no further with the parsings for these?
My favourites were all down clues....13, 16 and 19!
I am a bit worried about my cat...he seems somewhat off colour.
I shall keep an eye on him......

Hello, Elle!
Maybe the warm weather is affecting your cat?
I am not certain of 15a, but here goes!
Fluctuation is "yoyoing",
Meditation endlessly is "yog(a)".
" that", I am presuming is "yon".
"One" is "i".
How's that? Make sense?
20. "Saved by the bell"
That is a term from boxing.
If you are knocked down (I dislike boxing) during a bout, the referee must start counting, up to ten.
If he reaches ten and you have not regained your feet, you have been counted "out" and lose the fight.
But...! if during the count the bell for the end of the round rings, the count stops there, and you have been "saved by the bell". That is it, more or less.
What do you reckon?

Elle,
20, I did not pay much attention to the start of the clue.
"Receiving delivery" is your definition.
Deliver, as in rescue.

Hello, Elle!
And Chambers has "yon" meaning "that".
Phew!!

Hi, Rusty!
It has taken me a while to see the yo-yoing one...but yes, I have finally got there!
Well worked out, Rusty!
I couldn't see that.
And although I knew that the expression "saved by the bell" meant that something happened in the nick of time to prevent a usually bad occurrence, I didn't realise that it was related to boxing .......hence I missed the "counting to ten" reference.
(If it isn't a cricket term ......it's now boxing!
Grrrh!)
The cat is off his food and has been sick several times......
I am wondering if it could be a fur ball he needs to bring up, so I have dosed him accordingly...
We shall keep a watching brief, and see how it goes.
Fortunately, our vet provides 24 hour Emergency Cover, so if 'push comes to shove' , we can take him in anytime over the weekend.
I doubt it is the heat as he is an "indoor" cat , being disabled.

Hello, Elle!
I am presuming "saved by the bell" came from boxing!
No guarantee!
Now, I am not content with 16d. "Impulsion".
I am happy with the first part, and am left with "sion" for "hill", or "before hill".
No sion in my Chambers, but Anne Bradford has "sion" under "hill".
Could it be a proper name?
I found a Sion Hill in Maryland, but surely that is a bit obscure?
And also I found an Irish singer of that name on YouTube.
What did you make of it?
Let us hope medication helps your cat come back to normal.
