Hello, Elle!
I usually have the cemetery to myself when I go, except for the odd rabbit!
My rain has stopped, but friends in Norn Iron have had flooding!
I see there are still two ospreys at the loch.
The second chick should be leaving any time now.
I have finished my puzzle.
Quite a good one, though on the easyish side?
3d is a new word for me, and I do not know the writer at 28.
The French department is new to me too, at 16.
Think I'll have a look at the Tour of Spain later.

Hi, Rusty!
My delivery arrived with three minutes to spare within the given time frame!
Never once has it been early or late!
I am sorry....I omitted to thank you before for finding out about the US Open viewing...that was good of you.
When watching it on Eurosport, I shall have to sit on the computer chair with my feet up on the piano!
That is the nearest I can get to "lounging"!
I think you might have meant 4d for the "new" word ..."aleatory"?
I didn't know it either, although it was easy enough to get , wasn't it, from the parsing of the clue?
I had to check the definition!
I don't understand 16a..."lots" ?
I can see that "lots" means "items for Sale" but where does "French department" fit in?
(Am I having another "senior moment"?)

Hello, Elle!
Fine day here after the rain.
Some of our roads were like rivers!
Spot on delivery, well done!
Yes, "aleatory", new to me!
Yes, 4, I am feeling light-headed because I have cut my hair!
That's my excuse for incorrect info!
16, now the clue has "French department's".
There is a Department in Southern France called "Lot", named after the river.
So, "department's" will be "Lot's", and lots can be items for sale.
Lot is new to me.

Hi, Rusty!
I am sure you are looking very smart with your "new image"!
Have you run it past any of the girls yet?
(How much hair did you cut off?)
We popped out for a supposedly brief walk........only to find out on our return to the car that the workmen employed to erect barriers for the Motor Racing, at the coming Bank holiday weekend, had blocked off access to the (nearly full) car park!
An incredible number of folk could not then get out of the park!
A few "words" from a lot of people were needed to get the work gang to see reason.......
Quite incredible!
Anyway, we are home again!
And I am hungry.......

Hello, Elle!
I have took about one and a half inches off, all over.
Feel quite lightheaded!
I wont see the girls until Saturday.
Well done, the work gang, salt of the earth!
I dislike motor cars racing. Far too noisy.
I had my tea earlier.
Mackerel and tattie salad.
Was fine!

Hi, Rusty!
I agree with you about the Motor Car racing...I shall stay well away from that particular park until it is all over!
I believe it costs an arm and a leg to go see it all anyway!
Although having said that...we did once take my father to Brands Hatch!
We were given complimentary tickets, and I knew my dad would like to go.
Goodness , but that was a long time ago!
Mackerel sounds good - I like it best smoked.
We had stuffed peppers.
I have been watching another repeat of Eggheads........
I still cannot fathom from whence these repeats come?
I have never yet seen an episode for a second time?
Most odd......

Hello, Elle!
It is smoked mackerel.
A fine fish.
I have heard of Brand's Hatch.
Why "Hatch", do you know ?
I have not watched Eggheads in a good while.
I liked Daphne on it!
I think what they do is, record several shows each day.
More economical that way, they say.
What ever happened to CJ (I could not be doing with him!) ?
Did he go abroad or something?

Hi, Rusty!
All I know is that Brands Hatch was originally the name of a natural grassy hollow shaped like a amphitheatre.
I think it used to be a military training ground?
And then cyclists raced there?
Before it became a car racing circuit.
I have no idea why "Hatch"?
I also do not know what happened to CJ......
I am sorry......I am not proving very helpful, am I?!
I seem to recall CJ's being accused of killing someone; this from an admission he made in his autobiography?
But this is only hearsay... I do not know how accurate this is?
And I don't know what happened next?
He was/is an odd character, although he and Daphne seemed very friendly.
I think the present mix on Eggheads seems good.

Hello, Elle!
I did not like CJ.
He came across as an attention seeker and know-all.
Unlike the rest of the panel.
I would not believe a word in his autobiography.
I got a tube of this paste stuff for sticking down the edges of wall paper today.
It is excellent.
Solvite or a name like that.

Good morning, Rusty!
A nice day here.......sunny and warm.
Just back from my walk.
Yes, I know of Solvite.
You are correct with the name.
There is a paste for wallpapering, and some sort of repair kit for sticking down raised edges of paper?
We have used it.
Previously leaky boot now "passed" as successfully repaired!
