Good morning, Elle!
Blue skies and fluffy white clouds abound here!
Yes, it was the stuff for edges I had.
It was successful!
Well done on the boot!
I am quite chuffed with myself this morning!
I always attempt the quiz in Times 2 before I pass it on to my neighbour.
I had 6 correct out of 15.
That is my record!
I consider 4 to be a very good score.
Now, I do not know if you are aware but there is a Diamond League from Zurich on Eurosport this evening.
Mo Farah's last track race, apparently?
Eilidh Doyle is running, too.

Hi, Rusty!
Well done on the Quiz!
I seldom get the chance to do it...only when John is on holiday and I need to buy the paper.
And when I say "do it", I use the term loosely....... I rarely manage to get more than a few answers !
No, I didn't know that there is a Diamond League tonight........I think this must be the same DL that the BBC are showing on Saturday, probably only as Highlights though......?
I only caught mention of it!
Thank you for telling me.... I shall try to catch it tonight on EuroSport, as they usually offer the full deal!
That is odd about Mo Farah?
I thought that his last track race was last w/e at the Muller Grand Prix in Birmingham?
That is what was announced...and there was a big farewell said to him!
I am going out in a little while ...... shopping first, and then lunch, with a friend.
She is on her way here to collect me!
I am looking forward to it!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I thought Birmingham was Mo's last track race, too.
Apparently not!
Yes, there will be BBC highlights of Zurich on Saturday.
Hope you have a nice outing with your friend!

Hi, Rusty!
Maybe the big farewell for Mo last Saturday was because it was in front of a "home " crowd?
We shall see what transpires tonight in Zurich!
My friend has just arrived....so we are away out now......
Catch up with you later.....

Hello, Elle!
Yes, good thinking.
His last "home run"!
When you get round to doing the crossword, in 5a, the word "on" in the clue, is a cricket reference.
Not sure if you know it though!
But Bradford's has it.
22d is a new word for me.
And I would argue that using "butter" in the clue at 4d, is plain wrong...in my opinion.
I just happened across a phrase in Chambers that was new to me.
A "pneumonia blouse"!
I must lead a very sheltered life!
Enjoy your lunch!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I am home again!
My friend has just dropped me off, and gone to visit her son and family.
Lunch was delicious! I had a Salade Tricolore.
I will bear in mind what you say about the crossword, when I get around to doing it!
(which will not be until after I have had a coffee!)
I hadn't heard of a "pneumonia blouse" .........
But have just been tempted to check in Chambers, to see if my suspicions are correct!
Yes, they are!
You perhaps shouldn't go using this phrase though!
Have you been out?
I haven't heard you mention Horace for a while?

Hello, Elle!
I wonder what a Salade Tricolore is?
New phrase to me.
"Pneumonia blouse" is new to me.
Why should not I use the phrase?
(It was not at the forefront of my mind, you know)
Anne Bradford has "pneumonia" under "blouse", too.
I see a word just beneath it in Chambers.
I have tried counting how many letters, but gave up.
Must be around 40 though!
Yes, I was out, but driving.
Took a notion to go for a spin!

Hi, Rusty!
A tricolore salad consists of tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and avocados.
Usually thinly sliced, and lined up alongside each other; dressed with olive oil/ balsamic vinegar.
I love it!
I looked in my Chambers to see what that long word was..........
And guess what...... it is one of the 500 words omitted from the notorious 13th edition!!
However...... I have duly consulted my list of "Missing Words" - and could it be
"pneumonoultramicrcroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis"?
I think that might be it?
The definition is given as "a form of pneumoconiosis caused by very fine silicate or quartz dust."
( Now I know!)
When I have mastered how to say it......I might try dropping it into the conversation............!
Is your son visiting you tonight?

Hi elle
The Italians would claim that, and call it "Insalata tricolore" rather than "Salade". Without the avocado but with a bit of basil it would be "Insalata Caprese"

I live and Learn , Chris!
Mind you, without the avocado, I wouldn't be eating it!
