Merci pigale
The words of "Les Feuilles Mortes" are very relevant today, but I am determined to be cheerful now.
Back to the tennis ;)

Rusty, I shall remain glued to the tennis this afternoon - far too hot to venture out again with the dog.
What an excellent excuse to be idle and watch one of my favourite sports!
I think we shall have to get the fans down from the loft at some stage - this heat is becoming unbearable!
We swear every year when this situation arises that we will keep the fans elsewhere (ie somewhere more easily accessible without involving ladders and climbing!)
Federer through and Robson out - as expected so far......
What does 'filleting ' your wardrobe entail?!

Elle and Jazzgirl,
Discarding garments that I don't want, anymore.
I have never been a follower of fashion (it shows!) and do not possess a kipper tie.
Jackets mainly, and every shirt I own which has button down collars (I detest them).
I was sorry to see Laura exiting the singles.
She seems a tad slimmer than I remember her?

Just my joke with the "kipper" seeing as you said "filleting".

Yes, I know, Jazzgirl.
I had a little titter at your wee joke....at my expense!
Kipper ties were awful things!
But as a fish, kippers are the biz!

Pigale, please accept my apologies!
I have just noticed your post to me earlier today on this thread (Norah has created a monster!) about the French teams in the Tour.
I do not know the composition yet.
I did see that they have changed the second last stage.
Race will not go over the Galibier, due to landslide/avalanche, but will cross the Croix de Fer instead. Do you have any info on this?
Hope you are keeping cool!

Any info on The Hydrabad, a Q-Ship in the 14-18 war?

Albie, off the top of my head, the Hyderabad survived the war. An unusual feature of her crew (to me) was that a large percentage of them were McLeods of Lewis.
Unfortunately most of them never saw home again but were lost when the Iolaire which was taking them home, went down at the entrance to Stornoway harbour in 1919.
That is all I can think of.
