Hi Pigale

Yes, it will have to be swept from the top sometimes but my roof has difficult access. They made almost no mess, using only a fine spray and catching the water in the fireplace. They put plastic everywhere and even put the hot stuff from the chimney is a place where it wouldn't do any damage. Top guys. I did give them something for their charity

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you for that - I was supposed to have looked for Roger and Andy's match, but couldn't have done so properly!
I am watching EuroSport Player now - the Indoor Athletic Highlights from Belgrade.
Laura Muir won the 1500m, coming from the back, very easily.
She is the first British Gold medal winner in this event since 1937.
She now holds the European Championship record and has a personal best in this event.
She also raced in the 3000m.
She came first in this, too, so has won a second Gold medal and a second Championship record!
Brilliant!
Well done , Laura!
(I liked your pun!)
Eilish Mcclogan won Bronze!
I am writing this during the adverts.......must go back to the races.....
Enjoy your walk if your postie has been!

Hello, Ros!
I've just read your post!
Goodness, how awful!
Thank goodness the fire didn't get out of hand, and you are safe - it could have been serious......
It's a good job you hadn't finished your decorating!
At least the damage was limited.

Every year at Christmas time, I give something to both the Fire Brigade and to the Postmen/women - each of them come around to every house and hand out New Year calendar.
There are other bodies who come around too, (Majorettes, sports clubs etc) but I politely decline - I cannot give to everyone!
But the fire brigade is a must - here, in this village, half of the
firemen are full-time employees, and the other half is made up of volunteers.

Hello, Elle!
Now you realise the Belgrade events took place several weeks ago?
The tennis match is in my TV programme listing, but Eurosport often change things around.
Yes, the postie has been and I went out for a dander.
I liked my pun too!
I did The Times quiz today.
Did not get any right!

Hi, Rusty!
No, I hadn't realised that !
I saw the events advertised as being shown on EuroSports Player at the weekend, but didn't get to watch then as the children were here, so I picked them up again today.
Funnily, I cannot recall having watched them before ...
Oops!.....just old age?........ senile dementia?
There again, maybe I DIDN'T see them before ....if they weren't shown on BBC, then that is entirely possible.
Anyway, I enjoyed myself!
And interestingly, I saw Jason Gardener among the spectators
( I would have remembered that, surely, had I watched this before?)
He was the 2004 World Indoor Champion at 60 metres.
We have been out gardening - so no second walk!
I didn't need to buy a paper today - so no Quiz (I can't do much of it anyway!)

Hello, Elle!
I remember them, but not sure which channel showed them.
Eurosport often do repeat programmes.
It is a while since you had a "senior moment", so just put it down to that!
The Quiz is brutal!
My record is 4 correct out of 15 questions.
And that was a while ago!

Hi, Rusty!
I have been repairing my walking boots!
I was so impressed by the effectiveness of the Stormsure glue on my wellies, that I decided to try it on a crack in my Nubucks.
The "mend" looks all right....I shall now have to wait for either a wet spell, or a very heavy dew, in order to test whether or not it has worked in this instance!
These boots are old and well tried.......and if they can survive a fox chewing them up, I am sure they will tolerate a bit of glue!
It seems very good stuff, so fingers crossed!
I shall now have a look to see if I can find Roger and Andy........

Hello, Elle!
I am sure your boot will be fine!
I repaired my trail shoes last week with glue.
The sole was coming adrift.
Seems OK.
i have another pair I got 18 months ago but I have only tried them out a couple of times and kept them in reserve.
Hope you found Roger and Andy!

Hi, Rusty!
I am in a similar situation!
I too have a spare pair of boots......I have worn them in, but am keeping them in reserve, preferring to wear out the first pair.
Yes, I have found Roger and Andy.......Roger has taken the first set!
It is going with serve in the second....
But I am going to watch my "Broadchurch" serial in a few minutes........
I shall multi task and check on the tennis during the TV ads.....

Good morning, Rusty!
We have yet another lovely day here, albeit decidedly chilly as yet.
Very brisk, invigorating and enjoyable walk!
I was pleased to see Roger win the charity match yesterday.
He and Andy seemed on best of terms - lots of smiles and pats on backs!
No specific plans for today........taking it as it comes.
Just going to make a coffee and then tackle the Times QC before hoovering......
How about you?
