Hello, Pigale!
Sagan just had bad luck.
Three punctures and no handy team car, but that's the way it is in Paris-Roubaix.
Greg van Avermaet won well.
He is having a good season.
Sylvain Chavanel rode well, I thought.
A French win is overdue!
I enjoyed seeing Paris during the marathon this morning!

Hi, Rusty!
We are finally home again!
We walked a long way......
It is glorious here - and very warm - about 22C apparently.
Certainly "shirt sleeves" weather!
I am sorry that I missed the Paris marathon - I do not know the husband and wife who won?
I see from the several posts that there have been some crashes in the Paris-Roubaix race - I am so glad I wasn't watching it!
What happened? and how did your man Pete Sagan get on?
Daughter has just phoned to say that they have reached home safely........ that is good to hear.
I can relax now that I know they are home!

Hello Rusty,

Yes, Paris can be beautiful! I believe that the wooded area you saw
at the beginning of the race was the Bois de Boulogne (you remember, couples waiting or couples.....?)

Glorious day here too Elle, I think we just beat you by 2 or 3 degrees,
but that's not much!

Hope you are not too tired after your family's stay - sounds like you
enjoyed every minute of it!

Hello, Elle!
I do not know the folk who won in Paris other than they are Kenyans.
I liked Paris. A beautiful city. Lots of greenery!
There are always crashes in Paris-Roubaix.
That's the way it is.
They race on primitive roads, but at least today the cobbles were dry.
My man Sagan rode well enough but had several punctures which cost him time.
He finished well down the field.
He will be better suited to the Ardennes Classics which start next week.
That is good your daughter and family have reached home safely.
Yes, you relax!

Good evening, Rusty!
It sound as though cycling is going to be the order of the day for the next few weeks?
I think I recall from last year that one race seemed to lead into another.
Certainly the events are well worth watching for the beautiful scenery often to be observed, as well as for love of the sport itself.
I just cannot tolerate the "waiting" for the inevitable crash!
I haven't watched any of the tennis.......but I have the triathlon recorded for later.
I am reading....peace and quiet is good!
Are you making progress with Emma O'Reilly's story of Lance Armstrong's downfall?
I am interested to hear how she and Lance made up their differences and resumed their earlier friendship?

Hello, Pigale!
It is good that you are having great weather!
I know that you love the sun!
Yes, we 've had a lovely time with our daughter and the children staying with us.
We've been out a lot - thanks to the glorious day we have had.
I am shattered now, though!!

Hello, Elle!
Cycling goes on all year.
At this time of year there are the one-day Classic events coming thick and fast.
Cyclists accept the crashes as part of the job.
They get up and ride on, usually.
I have read a couple of Emma's chapters.
Quite good so far.
She has just met Armstrong and thinks he is the most obnoxious man on God's Earth.
No surprise there!
I wonder if she will touch on Armstrong's treatment of Christophe Bassons and Filippo Simeoni?
I am going to eat my tea and watch a bit of the golf now.

Hi, Rusty!
I don't know Christophe Bassons and Filippo Simeoni?
I remember very little about the Lance Armstrong affair?
Most of what I have learned has been retrospective from your telling me about it..........
What did Armstrong do to the other two?
I cannot credit how lazy we are being this evening.....most out of character.....I have had a salad sandwich, and my husband has had toasted hot cross buns, for our dinner!!
We do have food prepared, but neither of us had the energy to be bothered !
What did you have for your tea?
I hope the golf is going okay....?
I must phone my cousin soon...or is it her turn to phone me?
I can never keep track!

Setlting down for the Masters. I wouldn't be upset if any of the top 4 won - Spieth and Fowler are among my favourites - but I do think that Garcia deserves a major.

Hello, Elle!
Armstrong ruined their careers.
They rode "clean" and spoke out about it.
Armstrong made sure by physical intimidation and other threats, that they never won races or stages.
He is a very nasty piece of work.
He tried to bankrupt Greg Lemond, in an attempt to stop him speaking out.
He is a corrupt bully.
I had a smoked haddock fish cake for my tea, and shortie!
Golf is going fine.
I have a wee bet on Rickie, but I am not fussed at all who wins.
I like all the challengers.
Freddie Couples is going along nicely.
He is one of the older generation and it is good to see him challenging.

Hey, Rusty!
Ah, now I understand.........thank you for explaining.
Yes, Lance Armstrong does sound a truly horrible man.
I had no idea of the depths of his depravity!
You should be even more well- informed by the time you have finished your book!
I am glad that you are enjoying the golf.
I haven't had the television on today .
Nor have I even looked at The Sunday Times.
I shall have to catch up on all the News tomorrow.
I am being very laid back and lazy..........
I have just chatted to my cousin........All Quiet on the (North) Western Front.........
