Hello, Elle!
Your family is far more important than sporting events!
Especially the weightlifting!
Cancellara won three cobblestones and they take pride of place in his sauna!
Sean Kelly has two and values them as the top awards in his career, and that includes yellow and green jerseys from Le Tour and the huge San Remo trophies.
I read about the Kenyan lady.
No surprise there.
Sport is rife with cheats, I think.
BGT returns next Saturday!

Hi, Rusty!
The weather again is beautiful!
We are making a rather late start to our outing today, but are very nearly ready for "the off"!
Again, we are taking a picnic - due to popular demand!
We shall try a different venue today - it will make a change for the boys.
I don't think they are used to walking as far as we take them!
But they seem to enjoy themselves - especially if yesterday was anything to go by!
I hope your horse racing goes well this afternoon - and Pleasant Company runs well!
Talk later......

Good afternoon, Elle!
Great day here.
Hope your weather is the same!
A good walk will benefit the boys, followed by a picnic.
Sounds pretty good to me!
I am not bothered so much about Pleasant Company, but more interested in the golf, later.
That's where the drama is!
I have completed the crossword, my walk is over, and that is me home for the day now.

Hi, Rusty!
Home again!
We have had a lovely time out with the boys......
We did as yesterday, took the picnic in back packs and walked first, then had lunch, then continued our walk for a further few miles.
Very beneficial for everyone!
Plenty of fresh air and exercise!!
We should all sleep well tonight.
I haven't had a paper today, so no crosswords.
Anything strange or startling in today's puzzle?

Hello, Elle!
Glad you enjoyed your day out.
I had a bit of a walk, too.
No, crossword was straightforward.
25, Thick-skinned type sounding witty? Wrong (5)
R-I-O.
i have Rhino.
Does witty mean wry/rhi?
Wrong = no?
Not so sure witty means wry, or wrong means no?
Was there a drama called Saint Joan?
Other than those two I am quite happy with it.

Good evening, Rusty!
Where did you get to on your walk?
Are you making friends with Horace yet?
I think "rhi" sounds like "wry" for witty is fine, plus "no", giving "rhino" for a pachyderm sounds good.
And yes, "Saint Joan" is a play by George Bernard Shaw.
So you are "all done and dusted" correctly!
I haven't had time to go buy the paper, let alone do the crosswords!
I must find time for the "Everyman" tomorrow though, as that is my favourite puzzle!
We have had Shepherd's Pie and mushy peas, with onion gravy, for dinner.
And now I am going to play a final game before the boys go to bed........

Hello, Elle!
I walked on the Nature Trail.
I did not go past the horse today.
I do not think "wrong" means "no"?
I have just discovered the word "nocent" meaning guilty.
New to me!
I did not know about the GBS play.
Your tea sounds nice.
I had a mackerel and coconut rings.

I have never heard the word "nocent" prior to your mentioning it just now!
How strange that "innocent" should be a common-or-garden noun, and yet we didn't know its opposite to be "nocent", rather than the widely known "guilty"!
We learn something new every day!
I finished my Jeffrey Archer book...."Shall We Tell the President?"......
I enjoyed it very much, as I usually do his books.
So...what to read next?
I still haven't come to any decision about what to buy with my Amazon voucher........
How did your horse do this afternoon?

Hello, Elle!
I wonder what percentage of words in Chambers Dictionary we do not know?
I would say at least 95% are words I do not know.
Or more!
It was Anne Bradford that put me on to "nocent"
You notice that in criminal trials the verdicts are "guilty" or "not guilty".
Not "guilty" or "innocent".
I am working my way through Emma O'Reilly's book.
Professional cycling is saturated with drugs according to Emma.
I agree.
My horse ran well enough and finished 9th.
I was pleased for the winning trainer, Lucinda Russell.
She is a very nice lady indeed!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is again a beautiful day - the sun is shining and the sky is blue - we couldn't have asked for nicer weather whilst the boys have been here.
I haven't been beyond the garden with the dog, as yet........the boys didn't appear for breakfast until a quarter to eight........
I must have really worn them out yesterday!
I don't know what today's plans are....the family are going home at some stage........our son-in-law must be missing them! He has been working!
Meanwhile, as my grandsons are now playing games on their tablets, I shall sneak a quick look at the Everyman while I have the opportunity!
How about you?
What plans for today?
I think you have a lot of Sport to watch?
