I think the type of fish required needs to be specified?
So you would say "Cod / plaice and chips"!
And say what size of chips you want - a "large", mind you, is enough for about three people!
I usually eat sausage from the chippy, because all the fish is "battered" and I do not like batter!
He (momentarily, I have forgotten the owner's name ) also does various meat pies eg meat; and meat and potato; and also Spring rolls.
It is a good meal!
And all the tastier for not having to cook it oneself!
I have never dared to skateboard - I should fall off!
But I have had a "go" on the grandsons' scooters!
I am a dab hand (should that be "foot"?) at that !
Take a look at that passage that JG mentioned - in chapter 10 in "3 men..."

I have no illustrations, apart from one on the preface, but I am more than happy to use my own imagination.
My few memories from reading the book years back included the Hampton Court Maze incident where Harris was leading people astray. That was the one that stuck in my mind and I have since guided tourists out of the maze when walking round the gardens there. One American lady had been in there for 45 minutes and was despairing of missing her coach home !

Vast majority of fish asked for is haddock.
Not heard of "large" chips here.
I would ask for "a haddock supper".
I am typing this on Hudl, and it is set to "network time" yet network time is running eight minutes slower than real time.
Wonder why that is?

They are quite small black and white drawings - not intrusive and quite cleverly done!
Hampton Court Maze is surprisingly small and compact, isn't it ?
Yet it is difficult to make an escape!
Last time we were in there, a small boy climbed up (a tree , a bank? I cannot remember ) outside the Maze, and yelled down instructions to get people out!
It was very funny!

I have no idea what we are talking about here?
I cannot type well on my Hudl - it takes me forever.
I prefer to use the keyboard to the desk top!

Yes, it is you to 'phone your cousin.
Yes, battered haddock, though I like white pudding too, or haggis.
My Hudl is OK now.
I switched it off/on and it is fine.
Network time is what it displays on screen in "notification area".
Best left on network time or it could cause the tablet to go wonky.
I am getting a new broadband hub/router delivered tomorrow, according to BT.

I like both......
My Irish friend used to bring me back white pudding whenever she went home to Dundalk.
It is very tasty.
I do not, however, enjoy eating black pudding! that I do NOT like!
I don't remember seeing any such thing as "network time" or a "notification area" displayed on my Hudl?
But I cannot check this right now, as the Hudl battery is flat.
I must put it to charge.......

The usual things at our chip shop are haddock, white and black puddings, haggis, chicken, and "mock chop" (the dear Lord alone knows what that contains).
Chips and fritters.

It shows battery, wifi on/off, and time.
