Hi, Rusty
!It is great that you have heard from the girls!
How lovely!
And from your friends from Norn Iron.
We are having texts coming in now, too.........and sending them........although most folk will be in touch tomorrow "proper" as it were .
I wish you and yours, Rusty, a Very Happy New Year - and may you all stay "healthy, wealthy and wise" throughout 2017!
All the Very Best......!

Thank you, Rusty!
We have raised a glass to the New Year!
Texts gone to daughters - and received - but I don't think my cousin would thank me for phoning her at this time!
One last trip to the garden with the dog...she is scared of the fireworks so we may not get beyond the kitchen door......
Talk tomorrow!
Good night!

Good morning, Elle!
Hope you had a nice time bringing in the New Year!
Thank goodness the fireworks have finished!
I can not be doing with them!
Fine frosty morning here.
I had some of the young ones first footing me.
Nice to see them keeping up the old traditions!

Good morning, Rusty!
Dreich here! A very miserable day!
Let us hope that people's spirits are not in accordance with the weather!
How nice that you had some first footers!
What time did you get to bed?
I had a job with the dog last night....she wouldn't go in the garden because of the fireworks....it took ages to settle her.
Our son has just phoned us on his way home from work .
His hotel was very busy last night as you can imagine!
He wished us a happy new year and his dad a happy birthday.
Other family members are arriving here about 11am......
I hope you have a great day with your family and any remaining first-footers.....Miss L-B is coming, isn't she?
Catch up this evening, if you are at home?

Hello, Elle,
I retired around 3 this morning!
La Bamba appeared at half past twelve, with three of her "besties".
I hope your husband and you have a very nice day!
I have had texts from a lot of different places.
Gothenburg, Paris, Kilkenny, Lanzarote, Belfast, Skye, and Donegal.
Great things the mobile phones!
Where would we be without them!

Hi, Rusty!
Goodness, I am exhausted!
Everyone has now gone home....it is extremely quiet...we feel we should be whispering!
But we have all had a great time!
So Miss L- B appeared last night after all! That was in the true spirit of first footing then!
What a lot of texts you have had from far off exotic places!
Our furthest afield was from Calgary , in Canada.
We are having visitors again tomorrow.
BB wants to come back.......!
So how has your day gone....any more callers?
Or have you been able to "rest"?
P.S. It's been pouring down all day!

Good evening, Elle!
Well done on everyone enjoying themselves.
I went out for a while with my lumps of coal, first footing!
I drove. I do not think the buses are running.
It has been a fine day here.
I also watched "84, Charing Cross Road".
It is Anne Bancroft who plays Helene Hanff.
I thought it was excellently done.
Great acting, and the props etc were superb.
Must take some doing to get everything right.
Much better than the book.
By the time Helene finally manages to visit London, Frank has died.
But she still visits the shop, which has closed down, just to say she has "finally made it!".
I really enjoyed "84"!
i would recommend it, if you have the chance to watch it.
