i think i'm done, however 17,and 27d, among others (21a) leave me a bit puzzled.
Are we supposed to critique? (if so, thumbs up for pulling it off).

Just notuced that the two question marks for caravan are from our friends over the pond and maybe don't get the wordplay, so I will explain

Over here guys, we call a caravan that is parked on a site 'a static caravan' which is different from the ones used by people who tow them each time they go on holiday, which is called 'a tourer'.
Over your way, I think you refer to them as a trailor, as in trailor parks.
The 'perhaps with a question mark' was placed at the end of the clue because it negated it's true meaning from the clue word 'travelling'. A sort of way to say it was not as it seemed.
Hope that was ok for you, I think the Brits would have picked that up much easier.

The UK/US anomaly is a teething problem and may have to be considered in future efforts.

Knew that caravan was synonymous with our trailer, but didn't know about the subtle distinctions. We have trailer parks, and the trailers are certainly parked there, but we just call them trailers. Perhaps our language will evolve along similar lines; just give us time.

@anonymous

In Canada we use "colour", etc.
The "ise" / "ize" is another thing.

And that a Zed, btw.

Just popped in to say that if pastille thought it was a bad time to run out of ink, Tuesday was DEFINITELY the wrong day to have laser eye surgery! I'm still a bit blurry, but I can read (close up) now, so I've printed off the puzzle and avoided reading past the first 2 pages of this thread just in case. Wish me luck!
