@greedy kite

Had the answer, just couldn't rationalize the part after B.
Now see an alt. def. for whole word.
So, actually a triple def!
Thanks.

jws: Got it. Had the wrong entry for 21a. It's the same word, but the Italian for it. I had an S where there should have been an O. Knew the term; it just didn't fit. Duh.

Evening All,

Just got in, and what a great response, took a while to read it all..
I better give you something for 33Down

aristo, I suspect that with the Newman's reference that you took House of Commons as HP and ended up with SAUCE

Greedy kite was spot on with post 61, and if you guys check your Chambers, back track from House of Commons, you will be much closer to the answer,

I am slightly to blame for that clue because my mum is new to clue setting malarky, and I sort of made the clue for her. however, I am glad it caused some major interest

I feel it is a very fair clue

I have a question mark next to it too. Assume my answer is right. Is caravan used adverbially do you think?

I did have sauce but have changed it with prompting, though the definition part of the clue seems to call for a noun and this isn't one.
