After a divisive Ludwig, a Paul and an Enigmatist during what was also a difficult week at work, it is nice to get a BAU Prize entry from this Tramp puzzle.

That said, thanks to rogissimo for the hint, as LOI 19 took me an eternity to work out.

Hi Brendan
‘out of sight’ is part of the def, not the parsing.

Yeah, thanks Rog. I spotted my error a few minutes ago but it takes me so long to type that our posts are constantly getting crossed:-)

Thank you Geeker and the Ojays. Without you I'd never have got this as unlike everyone else I am finding this all rather too puzzling. Hopefully more helpful clues will emerge on this thread and tomorrow I'll be able to finish it.

My journey was almost identical to Rogissimo’s. Same FOI, LOI, also got hung up with cricket and also didn’t know 16.
Some very nice touches throughout I thought.

You are not the only one Lucertola. I don't know if all the travelling I've been doing lately has fried my brain but I'm struggling to get on Tramp's wavelength. Interestingly 9a was one i got quite early on. I have been staring at 1a 15d and 5d for ages as I think if I get them it will fall into place. But so far no inspiration even though I have a word for 1a.

I'm stuck on the crossing 17a and 12d. I've guessed parts of both, but can't see sensible ways to complete them.

Which part of 12 is the definition, please?

Thanks for the solidarity, Rocky. For 5d here's some help. The second word means family in a broader sense. All best.
