Very nice crossword - not done one like this before. But I don't believe the alternative spelling of the Mexican drink ... or is that like poetic license for a compiler?
(I'm fairly new to cryptics, not familiar with all the rules)

Although it's not specifically mentioned in the Guardian, I'd say that Chambers is considered by most setters and solvers as the pre-eminent dictionary when solving cryptics.

In this specific instance, both spellings with single and double L are given so it seems okay:-)

Thanks for pointing that out. Although I just checked at chambers.co.uk (chambers 21st century dictionary) and it had no entry for the double-ell version, only for the single-ell.
I suppose it must be a different version of the dictionary.
