OMG t was only a few months ago not years - what is happening to me 😲

I worked out all the solutions, but for two of them I couldn't understand why. One was 8a, which many other people posting found puzzling too, so that isn't surprising. However, nobody has mentioned the other one that I'm stuck on as being difficult, so I must be stupidly missing something really easy. It's 19d. I see a perfectly easy definition at the end of the clue, but I can't understand the rest. Any gentle hints, anyone?

I had a stall at 19d too, but realised that you just had to exchange the parts!

Much better this week than last, which I abandoned in despair.

No-one else seems to struggle with 19d. I have a blind spot on it, and can't sort the wheat from the chaff. Any pointer would be appreciated.

19d - if you reverse the order of 2 words in the answer/'part exchange' (exchange parts), you get the definition "gain control"

Sorry, still befuddled by mistaking a frew months for a few years...

If you reverse the order of the 2 words you get "pass"

I first found the 225 link by a Google search

That gave Prize 29,201, whereupon I could search the forum (top of page) for
