Hi Chris, assuming you've followed Gem94's advice, you should have been lead to a specific Wiki page. Once there, try using the CtrlF function on the first few letters - this, and details in the rest of the page, should give you everything you need to finish. Good luck:-)

Interesting, okay... This makes me think I must have gotten some of my parsing wrong. I had actually already tried that exact thing several days ago, because the ending of the string of letters looked like a name to me, but nothing has turned up. One or more of my words/letters must be incorrect.

Indeed, I had two words incorrectly selected. I now understand the message. (I must say, in both cases, the words I was wrongly using were part of definitions that, in my opinion, work equally well as definitions with or without those words! But it's not much of a defence, because the two words I should have been using were from bits of wordplay I had not fully parsed, which is entirely on me...)

Still can't get the first letter of 35d, but I will continue to ponder.

I've now identified 6 possible thematic objects (2 going backwards) totaling 26 cells. But i feel like just highlighting a load of 'M's in no way illustrates direct compliance with the instruction so I feel like I must be missing something.

I also assume 13a isn't relevant as the way I read that clue the answer has to be the Js, not the Ms.

Would be good if someone could confirm 13a answer is the Js and that there is no point me just looking for another M as the endgame requires something more complicated than that.

Finally spotted it, and helpfully gave me the first letter of 35. Don't understand 35 - where is the definition in the clue?

35d - This is tricky because Chambers only shows the definition ("letters") as an alternate spelling and only if you look up the word in the singular (minus last letter) - Check the first entry in the phone app and then look up the third definition for the "same as" word and you'll see why it's valid - hope that made sense:-0
