Well I have answers for 1D, 5D and 12A but I can't parse them, time to read the forum I guess.

Difficult this one I thought.

Ok, reading the forum I now see the clever part of the grid ;) which confirmed that 5D was correct (still can't parse it tbh).

Seeing the grid feature I then got 12A and 1D but I can't parse the first 3 letters of that either.

Hi PS,

5d - 3 letter "unhappy" reversed/about goes around/eating a 3 letter "Albanian bread" (bread as a slang term for money)

12a - single letter "journey finally" + 5 letter "gets paid" - definition is "does long"

1d - 4 letter "bank" (a verb as in 'depend') minus its last letter/cut.

Cheers, got the answers after seeing the device, had already parsed 12A and I did not know the currency and the cut bank was a bit of a stretch tbh :)

Only my second post to the forum but a regular follower. Finished this gem last night with the usual help from you guys! Picaroon must have known my son arrived from Australia on Friday!

Hi derbs52 this is a first for me actually attempting to GIVE help , I think the parsing is two words for unclean boxing one letter for Picaroon overturned —- reading up.

Thanks dhole. I had everything except 18d and your post clarified it for me. I am a regular reader of the forum but rarely post as I usually finish the prize crossword on Sunday.

My completing of this crossword was not helped by having the (more usual?) spelling of 15D for ages and writing in the other usual crossword Moor for 17A as well.

I had guessed wrong 1D and 12A so thanks @Nina for pointing me in the right direction ;)
