Granama, been there, done that and got the T-shirt, which is now so old it doesn’t fit me any more 😀

Too much turkey is maybe fogging the brain, but I can't get anywhere with the three normal clues. I infer something seasonal and wait-y, but (despite having performed hundreds of these) I can't see wood for trees. Also having a problem with the letters in (c) which make no sense, so probably something wrong there as well. The parsing of 31 eludes me, though I'm pretty sure I know who he is. Off to the piano for aural help, I think.

Cookie, I got started with 37a (anag) then was reduced to googling lists and things relating to the common ..... for 22a.

Regarding c) I had a couple of letters wrong ie r for 38d but fortunately realised that I knew the name I was looking for and corrected them 'after the fact.

I mean Cockie...bloomin' autoincorrect.

like you cockie, my letters for c are not currently making much sense. Even though I'v sussed 18, 12 I'm none the wiser about the substitution at the mo

Ah, the penny has finally dropped.

Please send help! I am stuck on 23down, 24 down. Nothing seems to fit with what I’ve got. Also 25a yields nothing useful.
I understand the 11,17 clue but no idea for the other normal clues.

Nearly filled the grid, but would appreciate hints for 6 down, 7 down and 33 down. I fear the reason I am struggling with 6 and 6 down may be that my answer for 19 across is wrong, so a hint for that may help. I also have the 37/41 normal clue but not the other two yet.
