I'm all done except row 2. Still no idea what this is. I have one blank cell at the beginning. Anagram solvers say No!

Actually one anagram solver says Columbus Heard. Not sure that's right...

Lumen, It's a 5 letter "fossil resin" (probably the most obvious one) inside an anagram liquid of 'such cold' - definition is "they detect particles".

OK. Bit of an anticlimax.

Help please with the parsing for 3d and 5d, as I think I've erred in the NW corner. Thanks.

3 - is a 3 letter word for 'miserable' with a single letter abbrev for the 5th word (after adjustment) replaced by the 1st word in the clue (after it's been adjusted).
5 - again, the first word is used in the answer (after adjustment) and the 2nd word is added to it without its middle letter - the middle letter is a dialect form of the 4th word (after adjustment).
