Ok I can parse 4D now, the last 4 letters were throwing me off previously.

I've also changed my mind about 17D and I think it's the most Pauline clue now, lol.

This one was a beast for me, but then Paul’s usually are.

I struggled a lot on the NW corner until I got 12A followed by 2D (which I had in mind but couldn't parse properly at first).

I think the only answer I am unsure of is 22D, I can't see where the 6A comes into it? I'm not sure that being an 8A is a symptom of being hungry either really?

Hi PS,

22d - 6a is also a slang word for the 4 letter word that goes round "learner".

That's not helping me out! Maybe I have 22D wrong. I filled in U, L as the non-crossers.

That word without the L is not listed as slang for 6A in Chambers online, but they also didn't have the obvious slang for 6A I missed at first for 17D! They only slang for that they mentioned was to do with teeth lol.

Hi PS,

Your crossers are correct. I've just checked the online version of Chambers and the definition for 6a is definitely there. The penultimate meaning as a noun.

Yeah that's in for 6A but not for 17D which is also slang for the same thing.

I was looking at 22D without the L which is doesn't mention any slang?

Ok I kind of get it then. I was looking at the more vulgar slang and not the definition before that ;)
