I don’t know if this is just me being dim, but I’ve still got a few I’m struggling to fully understand the clue, though I have (I think!) the answers for them all. 38a, notwithstanding the hint already given: what does the ban quit from? Also 8a wordplay, and the whole of 14d eludes me.

38a - the plural of the Romanian currency/"necessary" is "bani" and if you add that to your answer you get a word meaning "outlaws".

8a - Single letter abbr. of "group" then single letter "women" goes inside 2 letter Latin abbr. for "before meal/lunch" (ante prandium)

Not totally certain about 14d.

14D - Defn more like the House of Wa? (spooky old film)
