Foinaven,
15a is part of cow's diet
38a, 'ban', is/was Romanian currency
3d is what credit card both start with

Thanks for both responses. I had not associated 3D with a cow! In 38a I had ignored the sixth and seventh words in the clue, which is careless of me.

Took a while to parse some answers but I’m happy with my solution. I need a nudge for the scenario. I can see the five and also a jumble of the four some way above. I can’t grasp why there is a jumble.

Rickeye. Look at my early post on the other thread. Might give you nudge.

Greetings from the Sandbank

Despite the helpful nudge from ginge above I still cannot work out 27 down. Where is the misprint? Also I cannot parse 18 across - how does '30" fit.Any help welcomed.

Otherwise I've actually finished. Last week I couldn't get started!

WS, the misprint for 27 is in the third word. In 18, "30" refers to the answer to 30 across.

Thanks loge

The '30' is very clever.

To my shame, I am still struggling with 27 down. I'm assuming that the misprint is the fourth letter of the third word but still can't see it!! Is anyone else in the same state? Oh dear - and Arsenal on the TV this afternoon!

You’re correct about the letter, and presumably what the word must be from the phrase.

The word is an example of something you could ****** - and is in Chambers with this definition - but say a tumour might be commoner.

Wordplay is a seven letter word missing the middle letter.
