A fairly straightforward Everyman with only minor hiccups and ultimately very enjoyable. FOI 2d. No rhyming couplets that I noticed or a theme. Looking forward to other comments.

Hi Alzy,
Your links are 11a and 20a. The initial is there too.
I agree -, not much here to frighten the horses although I got held up by not knowing the film, but the anagram was fine.
Some of the clueing is still a bit loose but that is what we behave come to expect.

You're absolutely right, Mystogre. I suspected as much but couldn't see it. I don't have a COD although I found 6d the trickiest. A few weeks ago, Everyman was getting more and more challenging - vying with the Prize even. I think it's more or less back to the traditional level now.

I thought 6d was the trickiest as well. A lot of fairly easy anagrams made this one a breeze though.

Evening all
Generally straightforward, but I cannot see what 22d (Noisily rise, being peeved (4) is. I have - O - E.
Is it a homophone?

I agree that 6d was a bit tricky and I wondered about “describing” as an inclusion indicator.
I also agree this was a touch easier than some recent ones.

Yes it is Johnson. Think of how a bird can fly without flapping.

If all your answers are correct, you should get a green check mark when you go back to the main page.

Thanks to Everyman.
This was a fun solve, but not particularly inspired or challenging. Everyman was getting a lot of flak on 225 for difficulty; it appears that's being dialed back.
FOI 2, LOI 16. No blockbuster COD standouts, will go with 18 by a good margin over 16, 6 and 17.
12 is a new expression to me, but wordplay was clear.
