If you send anyone down the French route for number 19 you will not be helping them to get the answer, it is too tenuous.

ladybee:19. Greek mythology does come into this but I think the answer is an island. You may have to troy hard to find Paris' old woman! Once found add the obvious one letter abbreviation for Ambassador.

I thought of what I assume you're suggesting but it normally has ST. in front of the name so I discarded that reasoning.

In spite of all the hints given for 66 I still haven't managed to solve it. Have trawled through Bradley, Roget and Chambers for words meaning 'hostile' and still can't work it out. I don't understand the reference to 'sleeping army', though I know I should. Am feeling REALLY stupid. It's my last one.... could anyone give me a different clue, please?

The army clue was to get you thinking of the right word. It begins with B and is the place where the men sleep - the army b......s.

Try googling strong Asian alcohol made from toddy.

66. Is a 7 letter word meaning "to make a hostile demonstration" It is also a building for housing soldiers.....Omit the first letter which is a B and you are left with a strong alcoholic drink - 6 letters beginning with A
