'who said' is the sound of 'who'; then a French word for 'the'. 'do' is an abbreviation for 'ditto'.

Thanks Radar56 for the hints for 8, have just gone through my ancient copy of Chambers for all the words starting with at but still cannot find one with a second part meaning invites or lures with a final meaning of shots of any kind. Have solved 22 thanks to your help

Sorry forgot to give a hint for Fredo. The hint for your 'fruit' clue - think of what you do if you hae an artist painting your portrait + some as it sounds + a = fruit
