I’m making slow but steady progress. Can I check if the jumbled entries in the columns also need letters to be removed?

Any help on the parsing of 7d and 15a would be appreciated. It would help me fill one gap and maintain my sanity.

7 down - 4-letter word for to play (a record, CD), then 3-letter word for difficulty + S(quare)

15 across - 4-letter word containing an apostrophe meaning "given a drink of indused leaves" + E

*infused leaves*

With the two jumbles at 1d and 24d, we have 2 unchecked in each....can I assume these must be the same letter?
(As it happens, same letter in both clues too)

Thank you Loge. I couldn't convince myself the infusion could become a verb but it makes sense now. For 7d, I didn't have the plural in my Chambers but the answer is comprised of three pretty regular parts and should have got there.
