Moffat, you had me worried for a minute!

This is going to be a tricky one. I’ve spotted the trick about the letters to remove, but still only entered a dozen answers. Tips for 17dn and 23 ac would be helpful, thanks

Dylan, think of "recalls" as renames. Can't help with 17d unfortunately.

In 17d "restoration" would seem to refer to an era and you need an abbreviation for "proper" which I have never come across.
I still can't enter the answer though, as I haven't worked out the cipher.

Can I have some help with 18, 22 and 26 down please. I assume that 18 is an anagram of e + barcode + one more letter but can’t find it. 22 ought to be an anagram of sit and rib maybe plus one letter but can’t see it. Is 26 a reverse of sine? Nothing seems to fit the definition. Many thanks for any help. I am making slow but steady progress.
