Late to this one - can not find Tatters usual link to the grid - help please...

Can I get a parsing for 32d - I have the thematic word and the definition but I can't see how "some" of the amended thematic word when "sent up" (is that reversed?) is related to the answer.

Brendan, the "some" isn't a hidden word indicator, it literally means "a piece or item of (thematic word).

Having avoided last week's I'm now resuming myy normal spot: miles behind, a completed grid and struggling to make sense of the theme.

Let's ask for a hint or two - as clearly the Premier Division have all finished.
For 9 across does the letter 'b' convert to 've' and for one down does 'ot' convert to 'ed'? - and why? Are we into a foreign language?

Also there is a name of an actor in the second row. Is this one of the answers.

I've spent ages getting no where so feel comfortable appealing!

You've answered your own question when you mention a foreign language WS.

The actor is indeed one of the highlighted names.
