Hi Will,

My PDM was 38a, although that was also one of my FOI's - not fully parsed obviously!

I haven't started on the endgame yet so will no doubt be struggling over that while you're happily mowing your lawn:-)

All done, with a bit of judicious googling of the other meaning of the theme word and names I recognised.
The only thing I haven't yet fully twigged its the title: I'm pretty sure it doesn't refer to 1ac, and Googling suggests a loose sort of connection to the theme word, and I think that may have to do.

All done! Once again, my degree in Classics was of limited use: only one of the mythological pair was familiar to me. Thanks to wikipedia, I found the other half and also the other halves of three other thematic names I spotted.
It looked quite tricky initially, but after cracking 16ac, it became easy - even with my rudimentary knowledge of the "six-letter adjective".
After seeing the last three changed words in the down clues, I spent a while wondering if there was a hidden message to be found by juggling ALL of them.
Lovely, educational puzzle, Lionheart, but I think I'll wait for someone else to decipher the title.

Almost a full grid, and I’ve just seen a mythological pair.
However, four letters still needed for the message, so help, please, for 15d, a word which I’ve never met before, but which fits
And 21d, in which I guess that the last word of the clue loses a letter, but I can’t see how
Thanks

Hi Dylan,

15d - The first 2 letters are the "gas" with "gift" being thematic explaining what the gas is.

21d - Same problem here - maybe "cats"? as in a whip but I'm not convinced.

I may be mistaken, but it seems to me that the clue for 13 across is flawed. Assuming Bach is the thematic word, it does not change as intended.

I'm not sure about the title either, but I'm taking it to be a (very) loose definition of the theme.

Buzzb, I think 13 is OK. Its direct English equivalent is a small [answer] and "and the like" take care of the plural. A bit of a stretch, I agree.

21 down: Cat can mean to whip as a verb (it's in Chambers), as can the answer.

In the first 10 across clues, 6 of which (even though I have answers) I have to sort out, I have, in NO PARTICULAR order, misprints NTHR. are these correct because this is driving me up the wall.
