I'm still not seeing 40a. Five letter synonym for charge round centre of rot....that's only 6?
Is the cap in Wan strictly correct?

5 letter "charge" around (r)O(t) and single letter for "with" - definition is "wan".

Good morning all. I'm not sure whether I've completed this. Is the first in the "string" a word formed from the new entries ? Otherwise I only have 5.

Still not seeing that, I'll think on. Sounds like the O isn't the penultimate letter...the way you describe it. And the capital in Wan is just to mislead.

the penultimate letter is W and yes, the W in Wan is to mislead.

Further to my last post....unless the last of the 6 is one of 4 letters and the bottom row is unused ?
