I can see the single letter switch but as a spoonerism surely it should be
cam trars?

It must be me being pedantic!

26A: Doesn't the classic (apocryphal) Spooner script include 'I insist you leave by the town drain'? That is a similar single letter swap

Very late starting this and found it a real struggle - managed to get about 75%, and then all bar one of the rest thanks to the very helpful hints on the forum. However, if there is anyone still out there, can you please put me out of my misery wrt 6d - I have all the crossers but simply can’t see it despite the pointers from Brendan et al!

If you've ever had lessons to learn a musical instrument, this is part of what you have to do when you take a music exam, to show you can read a piece of music you've never seen before.

If you still can't get it just let me know, it's probably okay to give the answer now but I thought you might like one last shot at solving it.

The answer splits into 4,6 if that helps.

Sadly I am no musician but the penny finally dropped this morning - dog walking frees the mind!
