4 material (not in the fabric sense - I think this is a bit loose)
14 your letters are right. It's a partial anagram

Although there's a slight difference in the spelling, I think the answer is a distant descendant of the Tudor composer.

22d - Yes, a French "scorer".

4d - Material, but in the sense of 'real and able to be touched'.

14a - 2 letter "computing" inside/"bores" an anagram/"represented" of a word in the clue - definition is "in books". Your letters are correct.
