8a - You want a three letter word for "polish" to go inside Antigua after it's been "evacuated" - definition is somewhere in the W Indies. Your letters are correct.

14d - Definition is "bottom cut" (I like mine medium rare😋) - again, your letters are correct.

Good afternoon, I found it harder than the last couple and I don't follow 5D, although I can see how you get two words which fit the rest of the answers from the latter part of the clue.

My favourites were 9A and 14D for the amusement factor and I also learnt something from 21A!

I enjoyed this Everyman although it was fairly difficult until I had several PDMs.
Too many fun clues to list today.

5d - First 4 letters are the word "louse" after it's lost its middle/"heartless" then an anagram/"condemned of "cafe's" - definition is "eat crow".

I enjoyed this too. FOI was 1a which always helps although iI hadn't heard of it and left me wondering whether I had missed out. I like this grid compared with the 10-4 split one as it seems to give more clues of substance. COD 25a but liked lots of others as well. LOI 8a - I ws a bit slow there.
