20D is defined by the first 5 words of the clue, aneurin is more than a first name : )

sorry - read your question as 20a, 20d, as ixion says, is the result of a lack of aneurin.

I'm still struggling with 20d despite the very good aneurin tip. I have two ideas, but can't see the wordplay, a partial anagram presumably, from the two Bs.
The only other one I have left to solve is 22a which intersects, so a steer on that would be great.

20d - look at the four words before "leaders" and apply it. 22 - definition is first word; deduct a generic word for bad stuff from generic word for cups and saucers.

22a Defn. is question - remove a 4 letter word from the end of two words describing cups and saucers

A lazy google of Aneurin led me to 'honour', which was clearly a wild goose chase.

I think I've got the answer but it doesn't fit in with 30dn C?R?

Rayh, your letters are correct for both.
12a is the genus name for thrush minus a word for 'you and I'
The entry is the one mentioned in the preamble as initials, so not a word.
30a is 2 letters (initials) for 'a group of ladies' + 2 letters taken from 'lady'

^ that was for 30d, of course.
