Done that. Still no wiser.

PS Apologies about my underestimate of comments on there about Azeds. I'm currently on 2223 so about 300 behind but at that time questions were being raised as to why so few people commented on the blogs. My thoughts at the time were the blog was only published after the submission date so people had moved on. Recent Azeds seem to have attracted a few more comments albeit from a limited group of posters.

Ah, thanks Loge. Finally some clarity. So some people don't like 15squared because it's populated by pinko commie types as is the internet in general.

Ho hum. As a buyer of the FT, The Economist, Private Eye, the i and Times (Saturdays) I don't think I'll worry about it. It's too useful.

I'm assuming you've found the site, clicked on 'Links' and then clicked on 'fifteensquared', granama1.

The only EV thread you'll see is about the demise of EV - it's at the top because it's been given 'sticky' status.

If you look at 'Categories' in the column on the left you'll see 'Enigmatic Variations' where you'll find the entire archive of EV puzzles (the most recent puzzle only appears on the main page for a few days and, of course, it's the one 2 weeks prior to the current one, because there's a rule that 'live' puzzles must not be discussed).

At least you should be able to find it now, granama1.

My own pinko/commie sentiments took a knock in the mid 60s when Herbert Marcuse (Frankfurt school) decided to reverse Marx's inversion of Hegel and return us to rule by elites (his way of doing that was to empower minorities and disempower odd, newly 'one-dimensional' proles like myself).
It's taken about 50 years for him to get close to achieving his 'vision' - and now, God help us all.

granama1 - I don't think that from a comment volume perspective one can compare Azed with EV/IQ. Azed is a largely plain puzzle (with a few well-established variations) featuring extremely sound clueing in a consistent style, by dint of having been set by the same person for 48 years. The blogs are generally of a high standard and sometimes say everything that needs to be said - a comment along the lines of "Thanks, Azed" seems rather unnecessary after all these years.

I'd say it's very rare that an EV or IQ (themed, different setters, different clueing styles, clue gimmicks, clashes etc) should leave anyone speechless in a not-wanting-to-comment way...though with one or two of my puzzles it did seem that people had only recently recovered the power of speech when the blog was published :-(

Drxx. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. The site is a nightmare to navigate. Still don't understand the antipathy but it doesn't matter. I was just intrigued by the apparent dislike some have for the site. *shrug* Un homme poissin/poisin etc.

Hi fellow solvers - I've been in contact with Chris Lancaster, Telegraph Crossword Editor who wrote back immediately to say that the plan to stop EV has been stopped and EV will continue for foreseeable future. Good news indeed!

Spoffy, that was almost exactly the point I tried to make earlier. Comments vary by type of puzzle. In doing so I seemed to fall into some sort of Kafkaesque wormhole. I think I'll stick to asking questions about crosswords and having a bash at setting them in the competitions.

Over and definitely out on this thread.

Sorry, granama1 - there've been so many comments in the last couple of days that I've forgotten who said what. Actually, I've forgotten what I said myself. Anyway, I think we're 'on the same page', possibly even of the same site.

PDS, that good news was shared on this thread this morning.
PS But it's still worth celebrating!
