Thanks tatters!

Not enjoying this one. Already spent a lot of time fruitlessly googling random combinations of verbs and nouns.

Haven't read the rest of the thread as still trying to solve largely unaided. Anyone have any googling tips - any song lyric websites that you can enter random collections of words into or other suggestions for improving my chances over random googling?

Hi Smellyharry, there is a word that appears three times in the completed grid (with the dotted cells filled in) - I just entered this 3 times in Google and got it straight away.

Have it now Brendan, thanks. First fail of the year for me (although still only half way through last week) so that probably colours my judgment, but I found that all a bit odd.

Unfamiliar with the song and don't think I would have made the jump to the title without the help of the hint from Brendan. The preamble seems to point you to tying to identify it from the verbs / nouns in the clues, which turns out to be impossible.

Can't see why we have that odd entry method for 1d rather than the two words just being clued separately? The combined phrase doesn't seem to be thematic, unless I'm missing something.

Then the endgame doesn't really work as you can't do the first bit without having done the second bit first.

Maybe lockdown is getting to me.....

Hi Smellyharry, I think the lockdown is getting to us all. Oddy, when I played the song on Youtube I recognised it immediately but never knew that was the title.
