I think I have worked out the song title and what to put in the dotted areas, but can only find 2 of the title words - what am I missing? Any help out there?

Diver, one of the words starts in one of the dotted areas.

Struggling with 9A and 11D if anyone can give me any helpful nudges. Rest of grid filled in fairly unproblematically but yet to ID song title (though I think I know what goes in the dotted areas somewhat bizarrely...)

11d remove outer letters of synonym for jalopy ...add in the i... gives you a "hit" song
9a was discussed earlier on this or the other thread...

1d is split 4,4 and goes in col 1 and col 2

I'm baffled by this one. Much harder than last week, which I managed to finish. There are not enough clues to fill the grid, even with 24 blanks, and only 40 clues which gives 20 to have blanks. What am I missing?

eenk - not all the cells in the dotted areas are 'crossed' by an answer. eg for a row there might be two across clues - one finishing before and one after...if that makes sense...
