Well I filled the grid fairly quickly but I’m not seeing the song yet.

Me too, ukridge, although 'quickly' is a bit strong!

I should say I’ve filled it fully, including the four dotted areas, and worked out the general theme. It’s just the song and source eluding me. Probably shouldn’t have had that wine.

ukridge, if you've got the words that must fit into the empty spaces, it should suggest a 60s song.

I’ve filled the grid, but I have only eight Across answers crossing dotted areas, and seven Downs, not half of each set.

Also, why two bars in column 1, but only one bar in column 4, where they have the same pattern of solution?

Since everything fits, I can’t believe I’ve gone wrong!

Now all done, but one of the repetitions starts in a dotted area. Is this right?
