35D - three letter grid entry, with the last two being homophones.

The five letter word to which Luxembourg is added is in Chambers as an adverb, for the wordplay.

I thought this was a brilliant puzzle. I found the bottom half of the grid much tougher than the top half. If I were to try to compile a puzzle myself, this is exactly the sort of thing I would love to be able to come up with.

I thought this was great.

The key PDM - hopefully not spoiling I it for anyone - is to realise that a single symbol can have different meanings, which don’t have to be consistent between across and down.

So a horizontal line - or any other symbol - can represent different letters whether A or D.
