10A -- After many hours of deliberation (as mentioned), I worked out that cheques sounds like a certain East European nation, and the setter was telling us to look for a homophone with 'auditor'. In other words, horrible clue.
7D Includes northern dialect for home (rather than the more usual nin) within an abbreviation of tees. In other words, horrible clue.
22D Pun with first letter lopped off, followed by homophone of moan, meaning long grass. In other words, horrible clue.
Oh, and although you don't mention it, I thought 14D was a horrible clue, too!
Of course, the typo in 4A didn't help ... but I still probably would have floundered!
