The breaks in 33a and 27d are hurting my brain

Struggling with 31ac and 15d. Can anyone identify the gap? Also the sense of 25a seems a bit tenuous if I have it right. I aee the ethnic bit but the next 4 letters don't quite fit

31: de/mise
15: low/ly - the solution is hyphenated in Chambers
25: The undevilled version requires a comma after 'Kolkata', being a statement by the citizen; it's not the best of the clues

31ac: de/mise It's a (to me) obscure, medical word
15dn: low/ly
I think 25ac falls into the "makes reasonable sense" category.

Jacknatter - you’re a star. Thanks for the help. Looking forward to chipping away it but just wanted to make sure I’d properly understood. The fact that the missing word is ‘relevant’ is a help!!

Many thanks Jack. Actually the gap seems to be a letter earlier in 15d which I now have (clever) but 31 ac still eludes me

I think you'll find the gap in 15 is at low/ly (though there is a space inserted between 'lo' and 'w'.

31 is relatively unusual (and slightly less satisfactory) in that the word in which the insertion occurs 'reappears' in the undevilled version.
