I got a notice up on the Hudl saying I had to go to my account (what account?) but I've bypassed that and now Firefox is installed ( don't have a clue what I'm doing, you do realise that?) but still having trouble accessing Hotmail on it. it has to be something I'm doing wrong on the tablet, because Hotmail is working fine on the desktop!
I'll leave it alone for now till daughter can sort it for me, in case I make things worse!!
(Crossword Forum OK on Hudl!)
How are you doing chosing a browser for yourself?

Elle, you are an awfy lassie!
If you go to Hudl home screen, on the right hand side you will see a grey coggy thing marked "Settings".
Venture in there, and scroll down to " Accounts".
In mine I have Google and Twitter.
You 'may' have a Hotmail one.
Open them all up and see if they have anything to divulge?
Like "check this box", etc.

Ooops!
The grey coggy thing is unmarked.
It is like a gear cog on a bike.
That is "Settings".

It is possible that somehow you have logged out of Hotmail unbeknownst to yourself.
There are several Hotmail apps in Google Play Store.
When you are in Settings, ensure it is set to "sync".
That keeps it in touch with the desktop and the whole wide world!

Goodness, where would I be without you, Rusty?
Yes, I've done all that and it does seem to be working! Hotmail was under the heading of 'corporate' email!
My Hotmail Inbox on the Hudl is now reading the same as the Hotmail Inbox on the desk top!! Hallelujah! (until of course I lose it again!)
I told you I was hopeless at modern technology!
I can manage the desk top ok? I wonder why I am finding the tablet so difficult?
(No -one's called me 'lassie' since my Scots cousin died!)
Thank you for your help (and patience!!)

Great stuff, Elle!
I know little about technology.
I am still convinced there is witchcraft involved.
You should not lose Hotmail again unless you change it.
But, even if you do, the solution lies in Settings, you have found. Wonder why Hotmail is corporate?
The tablet is easy enough, just a different set-up from what you are used to.
I am going to leave my browser on Ghostery for a day or two.

Doglet, California Chrome is likely to miss Ascot as he has a bruised foot. Pity!

Elle, did you pay for Firefox?
As far as I know all the popular browsers are free in Google Play Store.
That is where you should go.

No, Rusty, I didn't pay for it. I don't know why I was first asked to do so, but I ignored that and went to the Google Play store like you said. I downloaded it for free.
Hotmail seems to be working ok now.
Just had a bad shock though.......was checking Hotmail out and found that an old school friend has just emailed me to tell me that her husband died suddenly last Wednesday. She thought he was taking rather a long time to get ready to go out (it was his birthday) and found him dead on the bathroom floor. A suspected cardiac arrest.
I guess it's our age but there always seems to be some problem/upset for someone these days, don't you find?

That is a pity, Elle.
Nothing much we can do about it though.
I feel for the ones that are left behind.
Anyway, your Hotmail is working!
One thing less to concern you!
Now if I could just find my icons....

I wonder if dying so quickly although it is shock is better than watching someone die slowly.I seem to hear about of friends dying all the time but at my age it is common
