Good morning, Doglet!
Yes, a shame about California Chrome.
I am sure they are doing what they can to help the healing. Horse's well-being comes first, though.
Right, I am off to visit my dentist!

Hi, Doglet!
It was a shock for me just reading the letter - it must have been a horrendous and distressing shock for my friend when it happened!
More so, as her husband was apparently quite well and looking forward to going out to celebrate his birthday - he turned 72 the day he died.
But yes, for him, it was a good way to go - it was so sudden I doubt he knew anything about it which was a blessing.
And I expect that my friend will see it that way once she comes to terms with his death.
The trials of getting old(er........)

Morning, Rusty!
Another beautiful day here - blue skies , sunshine and promising to be very warm. Hope it's like that with you?
What are you doing going to the dentist yet again? Don't tell me you've broken another tooth?!
I've run out of coffee - so am about to declare a National Disaster.... must away to buy some before I get withdrawal symptoms!
Did you find your icons....?

Hello, Elle,
My weather is overcast so far.
Think it may brighten, though.
I had a crown fitted (to a tooth) in 2006 and it became unstable.
Fine now. I like going to my dentist.
They are all very pleasant and smiley with me and they like a bit of banter. No bacon roll for 24 hours, she said!
No coffee? A calamity!
I got Nescafe at ASDA last week, and the larger jar was cheaper than a smaller one. Explain?
I have not looked at Hudl today so I don't know about the icons.
They are there if I use Ghostery instead of Chrome, so it is not Hudl to blame, but Google Chrome.

Hello Everyone,

Can't understand anyone who likes going to the dentist!

Has it got anything to do with the fact she is a woman Rusty?

Weather bright but could be more sunny - temps around 20C, which I find cool - Better tomorrow though

Hello, Pigale!
I think that living alone, I relish the opportunities of speaking to folk when I go out.
My dentist is a very nice lady, from Iraq.
She is fond of cycling holidays and that is mainly what we chat about. I think most dentists are women nowadays?
Anyway, I like my dentist and her assistant, and I like women. Amen!

Good for you Rusty!

As for opportunities of speaking when living alone, I know what you mean and in a way this thread has become a great help, a bit like having a chat with mates; even though it is only a virtual comradship, I feel we get to know each other quite well through the comments we make.

On the dentist scene, we have two in the village and both are men. The fact that they are chatty annoys me - they always speak when you cannot answer - It might be meant to relax the patient but in fact it irritates me all the more!

I have nice friendly relationship with my GP though, I have known him and his family for years - and he does not hurt me!

I just read the little exchange between Rusty and Pigale about the value of meeting with people and I just felt inspired to say that this thread is obviously very helpful to the folk who talk to each other on it. Although I don't join in very often (I'm usually chasing round like a headless chicken these days!) I do support the facility of people with similar interests (e.g. crosswords) being able to have cheerful companionship online. It's good to be reminded that not all of us can get out and about. Enjoy chatting! Bye for now.
