Hi, Rusty!
We have just had a phone call from the mechanic ( not our usual friend as Chris is away on holiday)
Simon is in the middle of fixing the car; as he originally diagnosed, it IS the time valve that is the problem! Luckily there is no permanent damage done to the engine and the car should be back with us by tomorrow evening. Better news that anticipated!
However, he agrees with us that there is no point in spending yet more money on the electrics problem and that another car would be the best solution ASAP!
But at least we will now have the transport to go out and about looking for a replacement car!
We need an estate car, because of the dog - preferably one about a couple of years old.
We'd better get searching.......!
What's your weather like today? This morning's beautiful start has degenerated into grey clouds, although it remains very warm.
Time to go out for another (short) walk! (hope it doesn't rain!)

Good man, Simon!
You had good luck no engine damage, Elle.
Could have been catastrophic!
If Simon is in the trade he may suggest where to find a replacement?
Two year old estate sounds perfect.
My weather is similar but breezy (which I like!).
All this walking will be wearing out the Nubucks!

I'm just watching Cream at the Albert Hall on Sky Arts 1. Can anyone remember a Clapton song with " 41 " in it? For some reason that number has come back to me. I've some old vinyl and C.D's, but can't remember the actual track.

Of course Bernie. Thanks very much. I'm now on e-bay trying to get my 13 year old grandson a Cream T-shirt.

Bernie.......also he has done 44 or 44 Blues in his Albert Hall gigs. My daughter saw him and remembered it. It's an old Blues standard from the 1920's. I just got that from Wiki. Howlin Wolf does a good version on You Tube. Check it out. Thanks again.

Just come in from the garden as the sky has darkened and I heard thunder in the distance.
As a few members on here already know,(caravaggio and aristo etc) I am a huge Wynton Marsalis fan and there is a great version of "forty four" with him and Eric Clapton. Check it out on youtube.

Hey, Rusty!
Good news! We've already got the car back! Simon brought it over about an hour ago - all fixed! even the electrics 'patched' ( boot now opening!!!!) altho Simon says the latter probably won't last for long. but with luck, maybe until we can get a new car......
So back in business.......
Speaking of the Nubucks........ definitely one of my "best buys"!
