Hi, Rusty!
I thought that you and your hair had an arrangement with a mirror and a pair of scissors?
We're going to be cat-sitting - well, visiting - soon, as my younger daughter and family are going to France for ten days as soon as school breaks up (son-in-law is a teacher)
We would have the cat to stay with us, but he hates dogs with a vengeance and is very aggressive towards ours, so they have to be kept far apart! (a pity as our dog loves cats, but then she's been brought up with them)
No, we didn't buy a car today! but do plan on going to look for one tomorrow. Not sure where as yet......but have been studying Auto Trader online.......
Fingers crossed it doesn't take too long or is too traumatic!
How is the book situation? Discovered any good ones?
BTW, I did The Times 15x15 today as I had to buy a paper! Managed all but one clue, and I needed help with the parsing for the answer to that one!

Correct, Elle!
I give myself a bit of a trim now and again, more so in summer. I don't go near barbers.
No books ordered lately.
Have you one or two cars marked for closer inspection?

Hey Elle, I am sorry for replying so late! Busy end of afternoon with raking grass - hence back and muscles somewhat achy! Then dinner etc...

I had gathered you meant tram although, as you say, you might have drawn attention to yourself riding a ram!

I don't think Beatrix Potter actually lived in Hawkshead proper but rather in a hamlet a few miles away - I'll check with my friends.

Glad to know you like the Tour, me too. And not only the sport part of it but also watching the various areas of France; I know the country pretty well apart from north east corner, but it is still lovely to see certain regions over and over again - particularly the mountains - Pyrenees rather than the Alps (less manucured).

And in fact, the Tour actually came through Chatillon ~Coligny (my village) a couple of years ago - quite impressive!

No, not really. There are several possibilities shown online at a garage near Croydon - so may just drive over and have a look.
To be honest, apart from this last time, it's ages since we looked at cars for ourselves; usually Chris picks one out for us and we just take his word for it! We chose this last one and look where that got us.......it's been trouble from start to finish!

No problem , Pigale. I never go to bed early !
Did you see the film about Beatrix Potter? I think if my memory serves me correctly, it was called "Miss Potter"?
Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor.
It 'showed' Beatrix living in theLlake District, but I don't recall whether it specified whereabouts?
However, according to Google, she bought a traditional Lakeland farm in Sawrey, near Windermere. called Hill Top.

no, did not see the film. I wonder if they made a DVD? I'll have a look in Amazon - could be interesting.

Since you are interested in the Tour, I wonder what you (and also more generally the British people) think about all the trauma with dope problem?

From what I've read, doping in cycling in particular has gone on for many years long before the advent of the Tour. Initially , I believe it used to be allowed, although of course it's been banned a long time now - as indeed it should be!
Unfortunately, doping is an ongoing issue in many sports - I think that offenders should be permanently banned for life.
