No, but it's quite a funny prospect, Susan!
Rather like my husband arguing with the lady on the Sat Nav!
I agree with you though about the players 'grunting' -if it is somewhat distracting for us, the viewers , think what it must be like for their opponents1 I'm surprised there isn't a warning/ penalty if it's too noisy , rather like there is for racquet abuse.

Elle, Miss Orlando works part time at B&Q.
Usually in the cash office, but she is an expert paint colour mixer too.
We had no rain but not a great day.
I hope it is a nice day down your way for the Oaks at Epsom tomorrow.
Your car is fixable, but HAS to be fixed properly.
I have never heard of anybody that does not like black pudding.
Maybe you should go for a check up?

I like black pudding, Doglet.
Good on a roll, too.
i don't mind the tennis, but I think the second serve should be done away with.
4 cars? Gee whizz!
One is enough hassle for me!
Fine morning up here!

Rusty, before you cart me off to the psychiatric unit, may I say that I LOVE white pudding, haggis and faggots! It's only black pudding that I don't like!
(Only joking!)
Not a very nice day here... warm but wet when I got up. Sunshining now, but we're forecast thunderstorms later - not auguring well for The Oaks if it's the same over at Epsom, but that's about 40 minutes drive away so could be ok there. Have you got a bet on?
How are you getting on with "Chappaquidick"? It was interesting hearing what Aristo had to say about the Kennedys, wasn't it? especially that guy's attitude about the damage done to his boat. 'A Kennedy can do no wrong!'
I think back in the '60s a lot of people thought that the brothers were, from their TV appearances, very charismatic and could never put a foot wrong. 'Heroes'!
It took a while for the scales to fall from people's eyes.
The case of Mary Jo certainly did it for Teddy Kennedy.

Doglet, I agree about the grunting being annoying, but it would never stop me from watching the tennis! If push came to shove, you could turn the volume off during the ladies' matches?
I wish they showed more of the doubles matches - we only have Freeview ( and our red button doesn't work) so we are limited as to watching only what the BBC choses to broadcast.
Do you have a special Sports Channel?
(We could do with one of your husband's cars, right now!)

Ah, Elle, I could not resist a wee dig about the black pudding!
Overcast here.
No, no bet so far; I shall see later on.
Just finished Chappaquiddick, thankfully.
I am in full agreement (although I know less) with Aristo.
The Kennedy men were dreadful. So, too, was their father, Joe. Involved with the mob in Chicago,
bootlegger, etc. Just shows what power, money and great PR can do. Joe was the US ambassador to Britain before the war.
And, yes, poor Mary Jo. Just a footnote in history now.
Elle, this red button of yours.
You can get replacement controls in Tesco/Asda etc.
Or, very cheaply on Amazon and eBay. Explore!
A non-working red button is not to be tolerated!

Have a wee look at this, Elle.
http://www.remote-controls-shop.co.uk/
It should give you an idea of the availability of your remote. But you also get universal ones that can work Sky etc.

Hi, Rusty!
Re the remote control........we haven't just sat on the problem!
We did get one of these replacement Universal controls for the TV, which should have incorporated all the functions of the Freeview box too.
And, in fact, it did, apart from the Red button, which controls which sports features you can hop between.
Everything works just perfectly , except that I can't jump from one tennis match to another , for instance.
I don't know what is amiss, as this is the only problem with the resetting of everything on the new remote control. Everything works well except the red button!
(I'm saying 'we' but I actually didn't do anything! It must be my husband's fault!! how's that for a good bit of buck passing??!)
Will study the link you kindly sent!

Morning everyone,

I don't wish to be the bringer of bad news but out Met Office has just issued a warning for thunderstorms particularly in the northern part of the country, but that might well include Paris area.

Hope it does not perturbe Tennis but I reckon in any case that the players will get extremely hot!

Here, about 120 miles south of Paris (not far from Sancerre and its nice wines!), I closed all windows around 10,30am to avoid hot air getting in the house.
seems ludicrous, but it is the only way to remain comfortable ~!
